Miran Noh, jazz pianist, is the leader of  this band and formed NOHMI in 2019. NOHMI has been nominated for Leiden Jazz Award2021, Grachten Jazz Competition 2021, Eramus Jazz Prize 2021(final), Karel van Eerd Music Award2021 and Avignon European Jazz Contest 23. We had an album release show in 30 October ,“A Bird At The Edge” at So What’s Next Festival 22 and presented this album at Injazz 23, North Sea Jazz 23, and Make It Jazz 23.

 

Miran Noh has studied both Jazz and Classical music and been working for both genres, the compositional style is inspired by multiple aspects from Bach to Ravel, from Bill Evans to Brad Mehldau and Shai Maestro. Each original composition has a noticeable strong motive and developed with lots of layers for polyphonic styles. The most of compositions are based in classical impressionism era with explores mood and atmosphere through the use of timbre, orchestration, and progressive harmonic concepts such as Ravel, Debussy and Prokofiev. She combines those sophisticated aspects with jazz elements for this album.
